Whats the point?

Its been said that your 20's are for fun, your 30's are for discovering the real you and your 40's are for finally living. I see myself now as a 26 year old in her 30's. Everyday I find I'm searching for the real me. Working daily to find meaning in my existence, or the lessons I need to set me up for life. I know it seems impossible. It seems almost childish. But I think there are lessons to be learned. Why should I have to way until I'm 40, 50 or 60 to finally live!! I have 2 beautiful little girls. I have a wonderful husband. And I want to enjoy every blessed day that God grants me on this Earth. What if I don't get to live til 60?? or 50?? or even 40?? Was it a life wasted?? Does that mean that I have to spend each day wondering how the other half lives??

I'm ready to know. And thats when I started reading. I rarely read fantasy....in fact? I don't. Hardly ever. I read books that inspire me. And I then find something in those books that moves me. Something that makes me take notice. But more than anything?? Something that makes me say "Thats totally me!!"

So this is me....finding life lessons and inspiration..... "One Book at a Time".

Five People You Meet in Heaven - Mitch Albom

I'm going to dive right in with one of my all time favorite authors, Mitch Albom. Starting with the first novel of his I ever read The Five People You Meet in Heaven.

The jist of this book was intriguing to say the least. The main character, Eddie, is a repair man for an amusement park on a coastal pier. In the first chapter, he's killed. And you are immediately thrown into what can only be described as the "stages of the after life". He proceeds to meet five people. People that had been apart of his life in some way or another. He learns lessons from his own life via the stories of those that were inadvertently a part of it.

It is an incredible book. First book I've fallen in love with since I was in grade school. I absolutely recommend it to anyone. It's a shorter novel and an easy read, but believe me when I say cliche as it may be "great things come in small packages".

Here's what I took away from the book. The littlest things and the tiniest encounters make a ripple in our story. They affect our future. I firmly believe that "meta-universes" actually exist. A meta-universe, is the basic theory that with certain decisions, encounters and moments affect our current universe, creating a second/third universe that would have existed had you decided differently, never had the encounter, etc. In this book these five people, made a ripple in Eddie's life or he in theirs. Makes you realize reality. Take each day for what it really is....another day. God grants you with breath each morning. Thats His gift to us. He's saying I'm giving you another day...."for He giveth and He taketh away", right?? Watch every move and every step....be concious in your life. Breathing in every moment, knowing that this one could be the one that changes EVERYTHING.
